Need to get the kids out of the house? Load them up into your Chevy Equinox and take them to one of these spots for the best burgers in Kaufman, TX. These are our favorites when we’re sick of the fast-food places that all taste the same.
Kaufman Burgers
Found at 807 S Washington St, this delicious burger place advertises having the most delicious burgers in town, and they may be correct! We certainly love them. The place is open from 11am until 8:30pm from Monday through Saturday and from noon until 8:30PM on Sundays. This is a great spot for the whole family to get good grilled burgers (or something else, if your kids don’t like burgers). It’s all fresh and homemade and served up at a good price.
Try their Double Deluxe, the regular bacon cheeseburger, and, if you’re adventurous, the Hawaiian burger. They also make fantastic onion rings, some pretty stellar stuffed jalapenos, and fried pickles you just can’t put down. The kids’ menu is good, too, with a grilled cheese that keeps our little ones very happy.
Wings Over Kaufman
Yes, Wings Over Kaufman is about wings; but they also have really fantastic burgers: some of the best in town. You’ll find them at 905 E. Mulberry St. They are open from 11 AM until 10 PM Monday through Saturday and from noon until 8 PM on Sundays. Obviously, this is a good place for wings, but you really need to try their burgers if you have not yet.
Our favorite burger here is definitely the jumbo 747. It comes with double meat, double cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, mayo, ketchup, mustard, and bacon. If you’d like things spicy, try the Hoppin Jalapeno. You can also order up your burger in any way you like, adding any of their sauces, veggies, meat, or add-ons like mushrooms and chili.
Detour
Detour is an ice cream and burger place, and you’ll love both. You will find them at 214 E. Mulberry St. They are open from 11 AM until 9 PM Monday through Saturday. On Sundays, they’re open from noon until 7 PM. While ice cream may seem at first glance to be what they’re advertising hardest, actually what’s great about this place are the amazing burgers and fries. They are spot on and delicious.
Try the detour burger, which comes with their special sauce on a toasted bun. We also love the Railroad X-ing, which is a burger with barbecue sauce, bacon, pepper jack, sautéed onions, and all on a toasted bun. Their hand-cut fries are amazing, and they even do some specialty fries that you want to try. Don’t forget to get a cup of blackberry chip ice cream on the way out.
