Let us know what you think after you’ve tried one or two.

1. My Love’s Diner, Kaufman

This friendly, low-key cafe won the Restaurant Guru 2020 award for Best Atmosphere. And while the service is lauded for being friendly, the food is pretty good, too. They serve breakfast all day, prepare fresh desserts daily, and have the best fajitas in town (according to many guests). Most of their dishes are homemade, including the mashed potatoes, chicken fried chicken, and meatloaf. If you visit, be sure to go with an appetite; the portions are huge.

2. Donut Palace, Kaufman

Light, fluffy donuts, lots of flavor choices, and great service. What more could you want from a donut shop? If you ask Donut Palace’s owners, they’re likely to answer hot coffee, fresh bread, and other drinks to start your day off right. A drive-thru is even available for added convenience. What a treat!

3. Little Mexico, Kaufman

We’re including this cafe-style spot on our list because, according to guests, they have the best tacos ever. It’s drive-thru only, but don’t let that deter you. The fast and friendly service will have you back on the road in no time. Everything is made from scratch, even the corn and flour tortillas, and the salsa has just enough kick to wake your tastebuds.
Menu items include street tacos, loaded baked potatoes, and breakfast burritos. They also have tamales, but you should call first to make sure they haven’t run out; this tiny restaurant enjoys a cult-like following every day.

4. Main Street Coffee & Baking Co, Crandall

This is the perfect spot to relax, work, or study with a hot cup of coffee or tea or, for something cold: try a fresh smoothie! Their breakfast menu offers mouthwatering choices like bacon and sausage croissants and banana nut bread loaves. If you want a tasty lunch, opt for a sun-dried tomato turkey wrap or chicken salad croissant. Whatever you order, it’s sure to be full of vibrant colors and fresh, unique flavors.

5. Moon’s Fried Chicken, Kaufman

With cafeteria-style servings, Moon’s is a local staple. You simply choose which foods you want, pay, and enjoy homestyle cooking like Grandma used to make. Crispy fried chicken, pork tenderloin, sweet potatoes, green beans, and jalapeno cornbread are just some of the dishes you can typically choose from. Customers rave about the wonderful service, clean environment, and very affordable prices.

With such a variety available, no matter what you’ve got in mind, you’ll be sure to find the perfect place to sate your craving! Make plans to visit one – or all! – and who knows, you may even find a new favorite!
